Vegas plugin - Unmult. Does it exist?

Hello people.

Please, give me an advice.

Is there such a plugin in Vegas?

If not, how can I get such results quickly and easily using internal plug-ins?

Are there any free plugins?

Thanks for your advice and tips.

Not natively, but Ignite Pro for Vegas Pro offers an unmult tool (called "Demult"). Also DFT contains such a tool (called "Unpremultiply") which works fine with Vegas Pro.

I would like to ask developers from Vegas team on this way for such plugin in new version of VP18.

It will help me a lot when working with logos on a white background.

I don't have to use Photoshop.

Have you tried the Mask Generator? It is in earlier versions of Vegas so I assume it is the current versions.

Mask Generator is great but has one defect.
Color images become black and white.

With the Media Generator I have to do it complicated:

This is not a defect, this is what the Mask Generator is expected to do – generating a white mask on transparency.

There is no internal tool or process which does same as a real unmultiply process does. The "magic" behind is how the edges around transparent areas are processed. Else you could also use one of the compositing modes in Vegas Pro or the Chroma Key FX or Channel Blend or … It's all different from real unmultiplying.

You can then use the mask generated as an alpha for your graphic. I will post a video showing how it works.

Using mask generator to key out dark areas.
