I looked for a Magix booth while I was at NAB in April and couldn't find one. Yes, I walked EVERY isle in ALL the halls -- in dress shoes! My feet STILL ache! I hope I didn't miss it!
A couple of weeks ago, I sent in a short message to MAGIX on Facebook asking for an update on the current status of VEGAS POST. They responded with a brief message saying "More updates to come. Stay in the loop with all news via our social media channels!" It's already Q3 and I do wonder what's happening.
Once V17 is released, I imagine we'll begin to hear more about Post. Right now the team is likely 100% focused on launching 17.

That's not a great communication strategy at all.
Some people would like to know something to decide whether or not they should buy VP17 or wait for Post - including those who would be upgrading from older versions (14/15, etc.) during a promotional period like the current one.
Don't expect post to be Vegas. If it is what it seems, much like After Effects doesn't have all the editing tools Premiere does, Post will be geared specifically towards post processing and motion graphics, and will lack some of the editing features you will need during the initial production phase, which is where Vegas will come into play. The two will likely be able to natively open each others' projects without the need to render anything, if it is anything like Adobe's offerings. So, I'd buy V17 and then upgrade it with Post later when it launches, assuming the two do not launch alongside each other.
It's also possible Post could take the form of a plugin or suite of plugins that expand Vegas' capabilities, but in either case it probably will be an upgrade or companion app for Vegas, not a new version.
