thanks albert....

but 10a already!? was 10 so bad they had to patch to 10a before release - or is this a marketing ploy to those of us who say we'll never buy till the second release?

They almost always have a quick release after the launch, this time they probably just had the deadline for getting product made, and they kept working, and were able to release a 10a by the time the product launch came about.

leslie, as I recall, Pro 9 was one of the recent few that was released without already being a .a update.

Is it an upgrade or update?
I found it under updates and downloaded it!
No payment - Is it for free?

RTFM. The release notes clearly indicate separate 10.0 and 10.0a versions. It seems apparent that some bugs were fixed before the final release date.

There is no "ploy". That's conspiracy theory stuff.

Not free. Without activation (i.e., "payment"), you have a trial version.

Rock solid Canon 5d preview at best/full res on a Q6600 system that would do 8-10 fps on VP8. I am sold.
Aje wrote on 10/11/2010, 3:04 AM
OK found it!

If you go the direct way via updates you get DVDA 5.0b.

Thanks Mike
You posted while I was still scratching around and feeding my face.

Instead of the link (above), I just clicked "My Account" --> "My Software" on this web site. If you have registered your software to your account here, then the available upgrades are all shown to you automatically just by going to your "My Software" page (along with upgrade pricing).
