Vegas Pro 10 audio stalls

I'm using Vegas Pro 10 and having some audio issues. Trying to figure out if it is software or hardware related. I have an auio project that I use a paragraphic eq and wave hammer to create a "distorted" type of effect. Never had a problem running these plug-in's in any other version of Vegas. Now when I play the audio, it will take about 4 seconds to begin play-back...play for about 1 to 2 seconds...then the audio just drops out. The curser keeps moving...then audio comes back for about 1 second and drops again. If I take all the audio plug-in's out, the audio will play just fine.

I'm using a Dell Optiplex 780 Intel Duo Core system 2.93 processor, 3GB ram. The soundcard is just an intigrated Sound Max HD.

I just finished up a video project with no problems...but I didn't use either of those audio plug-in's with it.

Software or Hardware? Thoughts?

Thanks
Kelly

Quick update:
The problem seems occur when I put the effects on multiple tracks individually. If I add a buss and put the effect on the buss, then run the indivudual tracks I need to effect through the bus the problem goes away.
Looks like this must be another VP10 bug.

Any other thoughts?

Try lowering or disabling track buffering from the Audio Device preference page.

Peter,
Thanks for the tip. So far so good. Seems to be working.

Thanks again.

Thank you from me too.

This was driving me mad. I upgraded my machine, upgraded to the latest v of Vegas Pro 10, then found the sound cutting out. Took off buffering and now it works a treat. Cheers!
