Agree fully....

... and when "d" is released I will not look at this forum for a fortnight.

I simply detest the whiners ($$$$ project + deadline yesterday + huge customer) and the shills (farewell - now I change to blah blah) that sure as (deleted) show up at every upgrade.

Sorry if you feel this is "whining" but...

"Vegas Pro 10.0d will be available for download in late April at www.sonycreativesoftware.com."

is not even slightly ambiguous.

For example, If you promised your client that their job will be completed in late April, would you bother with at least an email to offer apologies or at the very least a new estimation for project completion?

Sorry, but it is plain rude to announce to everyone what you will do, then not do it and then be silent as if nothing happened.

Yes, I agree with you. sony should have at least a satisfaction to its customers ... is still not out because of bug or error outor. but at least warn us.

Like Yogi says."It will be ready when it's ready".

What I meant was the usual whining complaints from the usual people that always usually do $$$$$ projects for usually HUGE customers and who usually download and install a Vegas upgrade the day before their final deadline...

I very much agree that the common deep silence from SCS - not only in this case (promised April - but then just deep silence) and in other aspects too is not what one would expect in what should be a good customer relationship.

There is a bunch of Vegas fans around here - and somebody told that they were checking for the new version several times a day - not that most of them needed the new version - but because of a friendly and curious interest in the product.
Then it is disappointing that the experience with the new Vegas nugget is just ... ... ... nothing.

One single ForumAdmin line here on april 25. or whenever it was clear for SCS that Vegas would not be released in april would have done it. Just one line.

Good clarification ritsmer.

Since I only have a little over 3 years experience with Sony Vegas maybe I'm not the one to say what I'm about to say but this time feels different to me.

I don't ever remember Sony announcing a release and then not doing it when they said they would. It feels like a pretty big hiccup to me and maybe the reason that no one is saying anything is that they really have no clue when their problem is going to be resolved. In other words they have a real problem not just finishing up the last few thousand lines of code.

my main question NOW is - are my software and credit card numbers secure?

;-) or ;-(

Well...The breach into PSN certainly have either managed to penetrate deeper into Sony's systems than previously thought, or the information gained from PSN allowed the hackers to attack SOE in a separate attack. Either way your concern is definitely valid.

I'm reasonably certain that the massive security breach of PSN can't possibly affect SCS, they are two completely separate companies that just happen to share the same corporate name. I'm not at all worried.
