VEGAS Pro 12 - reshaping part of video to make it whole?

Hello, everyone.

I am working in the medical field and have come across a problem where I need to edit echoscopy videos so that the video only contains the cone part but it would be stretched out to a typical 16:9 form or similar (a rectangular).

Instead of having a video with a lot of black space and other information in the form of numbers and letters - I need to extract only the video showing the organs. An example echoscopy for reference: http://www.brandaris128.nl/histor5.gif

I do apologise if this was answered before.

I would appreciate any help.

Try using the DEFORM effect. But be aware that any expanding of the picture will soften the image removing some clarity.

You're never going to change a triangle into a square. You might have some luck changing a trapazoid (which you don't have) into a square. I would use Pan/Crop to fill the 16x9 screen with as much of the subject as possible and get on with the project.

Is it possible to tell the DEFORM effect what area of a video to modify? Like a Lasso tool in Photoshop, where you manually put points that connect with each other and when you finish the circuit you can click on any created point and deform it?

It looks like DEFORM only affects the entire video.
