I just upgraded to Vegas Pro 13 and have issues with rendering. My source video is 1080p but I'm wanting to render it as 720p. My settings below are exactly how I had them in v12 and it crashes every time in v13. Any idea on why it won't render in v13? Thanks for your help!
I do this quite often with no problem. Have you confirmed the project you are working on in V13 can be rendered in V12? I think I would look at something other than V13 being the problem, such as perhaps one of more of the project source files causing the crash.
It's not that I'm trying to render the file in v13, it's just that I used to do rendering with this same setup all the time in v12 and had no problem. Now that I've upgraded to v13, it crashes each and every time I render. Any ideas?

I read this reply a bit different that your OP. Are you saying, you have tried different source media, different project settings, and different render templates, and regardless v13 crashes when you attempt to render?
Did the suggestion from OldSmoke, especially "Try switching off GPU acceleration." help?
Haven't played around with different sources and templates because I had already found something that worked well for years in v12. However, I did turn off the GPU acceleration and was able to render without Vegas crashing. Any ideas why having this on in v13 makes it crash but it didn't in v12? I would think newer versions of software would be able to support this feature?? Thanks.
Just upgraded to v13 and rendering crashed every time until I turned GPU off. Go to options, preferences, video tab and unselect your graphics card by selecting "off" on the pull down tab.
We can't really answer your last question unless you enter your system specs. Vegas is limited in terms of what GPU it supports, that hasn't changed since VP11. We all hope VP14 will improve in that area.
