Vegas Pro 14 can't open videos shot with Sony A6300 or Sony RX10M2

Kvesti wrote on 10/29/2016, 8:02 AM

I installed trial version of Vegas Pro 14. When I tried to use it I couldn't open any projects made with Vegas Pro 13. When I started new one I couldn't import any videos shot with Sony A6300 or Sony RX10M2. I tried to send message to support but that is not working either. This is not too convincing. I had my doubts when Magix took over but I didn't expect this to get this bad so soon.

I am using build 178. Vegas Pro 13 works perfectly.

Please consider sharing a link to samples (e.g. in your Dropbox "Public" folder or Google Drive) for users here to test on their systems.

I am not using Dropbox or Google  Drive or any else filesharing. I am shooting with following settings:

File Format XAVC S 4K

Recording Setting 25p 100M

These files open in Vegas Pro 13 without any problems. I can open them in Win10's own media player. DaVinci Resolve can open them without any problems. Only Vegas Pro 14 doesn't open them.

Ok, leave note here for one example of RX10 II Samples

I tried it again. This time it worked. Confusing. I tried it with several videos. Others worked but ones shot with Sony A6300 and Sony RX10M2 didn't work. I haven't changed anything. I still can't open Vegas Pro 13 projects but now I can use this.  Thanks. :)

More update on this. Titler Pro 3 was problem for older projects. Without it projects open. I can't use Titler Pro 3 at all in 14. First Vegas Pro seems to get support for Sony's camera's videos. This morning I opened 14 first and it works. I opened 13 second and it doesn't open the videos. Yesterday I restarted my few times which explains why it worked on second try.
