Vegas Pro 14 Jump-Cuts Gltiching out.

Hello everyone.  I'm new to the forums, but I have a question on how to fix something in my videos that have been happening recently.  I am hoping someone can lead me in the right direction to getting a fix as this bug has been bothering the life out of me and I can't figure out how to fix it.  Anyways:

I use Vegas Pro 14 and a certain video glitch has been happening in my recent videos during transitions or jump cuts.  I'll clip a GIF of it and post it right here https://j.gifs.com/6R16lV.gif  What I wanted to do was zoom in with the black and white still occurring, but the colors got messed up and when I transitioned to a new clip, the colors just go sort of crazy for the first second or two in the video.  This glitch happens several times in the video and I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling VEGAS to no luck.  This glitch also happens while editing itself while clicking on a random part of the video as seen here. https://imgur.com/hbCZUTc The video will sometimes just flicker for no reason while I'm in playback while in Vegas.  I tested with WonderShare Filmora too and that worked just fine so it has something to do with VEGAS.

This has happened in several of my recent videos and I was wondering if anyone could help me in getting a fix for this as I don't want this to continue occurring.  Thank you all so much for your help and looking forward to getting this fixed soon.

GIFS as video files? Likely the source of the problem. Do a forum search on GIFS.

It's not that. I made the GIF from a YouTube video I already posted with the glitch in it just to show what exactly is going on. I'm not sure how much they like it if YouTube videos are posted or not but in any case the glitch in the video occurs at this timestamp:

No? So what is your source media (please post specs)? Does the "glitch" happen with other kinds of source media?

My source media is MP4s I record with OBS. I have used the same type of media format with recording with OBS since I've gotten Vegas back in December.

OBS. Thought it might be :)

Check out the recommended OBS settings for Vegas on the FAQ page. Lots of reported problems with captured gameplay video, including the "but it worked before" comment. Anyway, there seems to be some settings incompatibility with Vegas, but it can be made to work. Good luck!

That's strange that it can break even when settings aren't changed at all. I'll have to take a look and see if that's the issue and all my previous recording are now just junk now. Sigh, I'm not sure what I can do if that's the case but I'll take a look anyway.

You may be able to transcode with Vegas or another program.

How would I do this by chance? Because if that fixes the issue, I'll do that as there's one video I need to work on for someone and I can't get footage again as it was an event that happened.

Just render your original media into "something" else. Then edit in Vegas

From Vegas (if a straight render will work) I would render to a lossless avi file (MagicYUV ) or cineform or XAVC-intra. Or try to find a legacy install of Gopro studio (free) and render into cineform.avi. Or try Handbrake (free) and render to a high quality h264. Or get FootageStudio (not free.) Or Sony Catalyst Browse (free), or some other NLE...there are quite a few options.

(Forgot: Davinci resolve 15 (free).. render to cineform.)

If it helps, I'll post my OBS settings: and here's the Advanced Settings:

I put the video through Handbrake as h264 encoding and while it tripled the file size (I set the constant quality down to 1 so I don't know how much that should be changed). Fired up Vegas with the Handbrake rendered clip and no issues whatsoever. That did the trick. You're a lifesaver thank you so much. I'll acknowledge you in the video I'm working on as a fixer to this bug.
