Vegas Pro 15 -Black appearing when cross fading Chroma Key clip

Hi Trying to solve this problem. I am using Vegas Pro 15 v 416 and NewBlue Chroma Key. The problem is this. I have a piece of video which I have applied track motion on to zoom into. The track has Chroma key applied and I have a crossfade applied. The problem is when the clip is played the fade applies this black colour to the image. See attached image. How can I get a clean fade on this clip. Fades work perfectly on everything else but not on the chroma keyed clips.

Cheers Paul

It's probably getting keyed out. You could bake-in the chroma key effect by doing the key, highlighting the area in question with a loop region, then selecting Tools>Render to new track. Render using magix intermediate codec to keep good quality (visually lossless), make sure your resolution and framerate match the source file, and it will give you a new track with a pre-chroma keyed video on it. Then do your transition.

Does same happen if you apply the chroma key as Event FX or Media FX?

Also, is the Chroma Key Track FX applied before or after composite?

Thanks for the suggestions, I'll try those and see what happens. Cheers

Problem solved. The black effect disappears if the chroma key is applied from Tools/Video/Media FX rather than via Track FX. Thanks very much guys. Cheers Paul
