VEGAS Pro 15 Update 5 (build 361) crashes every 5mins

Since the build 361 Vegas crashes every 5mins 👿. Right after the update it crashed every 30secs and I swichted off any GPU acceleration which bought me 4mins more until the next crash.

I actually maved away from Magix Video Deluxe to Sony Vegas because of these unreliabilites and now since Magix took over Sony Vegas this very reliable program becomes worse with each update! I'd really apprechiate a video editing software which is just stabile!

If you just start Vegas and then do nothing at all (do not load a project or anything) will it crash after some time ?

Here I have seen several "empty" Vegas crash after a period of about 5 minutes - but also examples where it crashes after much longer time.

The crashing started after the first update to V14 - but seemed to get less frequent after V15 b361 - but they still appear - even after I changed GPU from AMD RX480 to Nvidia 1050ti.

Right after changing to Nvidia 1050ti Vegas crashed like crazy - all the time - like you describe it - but after updating the Nvidia driver to the very newest available Vegas crashes less often. Now I can even have GPU video processing set to ON - but it is still annoying to try do some editing work not knowing when the next "Vegas Stopped Working" will pop up.

Edit1: just went for lunch - and when returning the the greeting: "Vegas stopped working" was on my screen ... Another Vegas instance, started this morning, did not crash, however.

Edit2: After sending the Edit1-error report I started Vegas again - but left it untouched (no project loaded - nothing) - and now (after about 1 hour with some email work (no editing) I just got the "Vegas Stopped Working". The Vegas instance from this morning still survives, however. This is something that I have seen often - the first Vegas instance started does not crash as often as later instances.

Edit5: Same-same: Untouched Vegas stopped working. Wonder when a serious and stable version of Vegas will become available ? Should it not be possible to run more than 1 instance of Vegas at a time ? we could do that in Vegas 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9,10, 11,12 and 13 which I all have bought and used.

I'm sorry that I need V14 and 15 because of using many DJI-drone-recordings - well - I probably have to start converting...

Edit6: This morning I started 2 empty versions of V15 - both crashed all by themselves within half an hour. The V15 instance from yesterday morning still runs well....

I think that it is not just @gary-rebholz who has to grow a thicker skin - I can tell you, Gary, that it is "quite challenging" to work with software like this - using more time for endless Vegas-crash-interrupts than actually getting some work done...

That's an interesting observation which the development team should easily be able to reproduce and confirm . Since magix versions of vegas , only 1 instance of vegas pro can run at the same time unless frequent crashing ?

After many many crashes I decided to completely reinstall my computer and start from scratch 😰 ... and after installing Vegas 15/361 again and importing a single videoclip from my Sony RS6500 it crashed right away 😡

Finally this was the solution for me: 18. DISABLE SO4COMPOUNDPLUG (VP15 AVC / XAVC-S)

I didn't have a single crash since I disabled s04compoundplug 😃 ... and I strongly recommend the developers to fix this issue in the next release!!!
