Vegas Pro 17 won't install

Bill-Parkinson wrote on 7/6/2020, 9:58 AM

I had a major computer crash and I am trying to get Vegas Pro 17 re-installed. I uninstalled the old version because it said there was no key but it would not allow me to go to a screen where I could add my key. So, now when I try to install it. it appears to be installed but when I go to the installation directory it is empty and the program is not listed and no desktop icon was created. This is being installed (or not installed) on windows 10. Help

In Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\Programs and Features, do you see Vegas Pro as being installed? Is there an icon?

How much hard drive space do you have available? Is this a trial version or one you bought? Why would you uninstall the old version if it said you didn't have a key, when you should have?

Do you have an Vegas account? You should go https://www.vegascreativesoftware.com/us/support/service-center/

Log in and go to My Products to get your VP serial number. Also click on Show More Details to see if you have registered the software more than twice. You might have to deactivate a registration and then you can install VP again with the registration number.

There is 102 Gb of free space on my C drive. Vegas is not listed in the Control Panel and the C:/Program Files/Vegas/Vegas Pro 17.0 was not created. Since posting I cleaned everything up and rebooted and tried again. once again it looked like it had created all of the directories and was loading Vegas, but right near the end it got to an audio file that it said it couldn't find that was to be installed in c:/Program File (86)/vegas. And then it said Rolling Back. I Uninstalled because when it said I didn't have a key it hung there and would not allow me to open the screen where I could enter a key. I already had my account open so I could enter the key if I could get the proper screen. After hitting that dead-end multiple times, I decided to simply uninstall and start again. I checked my product info and it has only been activated on one machine, my old, very dead, machine.

My license says that I can have it installed on two machines simultaneously. so, I don't think that is the issue but I will deactivate my old machine, cause it ain't never coming back.

I should point out that I installed Vegas DVD Architect at the same time and it worked fine.

It gets to here and then rolls everything back.
