Vegas Pro 18 audio timeline does not start at true zero

In my Vegas Pro audio timeline there appears to be about a 2 tenths of a second lead at the front prior to the actual zero point. Under properties in the ruler I have the ruler time starting at zero, and yet this space is inserted ahead of zero. My click track otherwise lines up perfectly with the BPM after this space. I have attached a screenshot to illustrate. I assume that this is a setting that can be adjusted somewhere in preferences, but I've not been able to find it. Thank you!

I see there is a silent space in the file before the click. Grab the head boarder of the event and move to a few milliseconds or so before the click peak removing the silent space, then slide the event fully to the left (00:00:00).

Thanks, but I need it to be precise. I'm exchanging files with another studio and their zero is not matching my zero because of this space. It's got to be a setting somewhere. Makes no sense to have the very first beat in the timeline be slower than the rest of the song.

To help idenitfy where the problem lies, open the audio event in another NLE or in an audio editor (I see from an earlier post that you have Sound Forge). If the space before the first beat exists in another NLE/audio editor, then that strongly suggests that the space exists in the audio track provided by the other studio. Otherwise, maybe the other studio has trimmed the audio event on their NLE in the way that rraud suggested above.

In Vegas Pro under the Editing tab in Options/Preferences, make sure that 'Do not quantize to frames for audio-only edits' is checked, but I really don't think that this would cause the audio track to have extra time added to it. This setting just allows a choice to be made as whether an audio event can be moved L/R to any position on the timeline or moved L/R but only to frame edges used by video events.

Also, do the Vegas Pro project properties match the properties of the audio event particularly the fps setting under the Video tab as well as the audio settings under the audio tab? These are just things to check.

Thank you Dexcon and rraud. I did the troubleshooting you suggested and it looks like the issue is with the other studio's files. The click is lining up properly now. Much appreciated, thank you! --Carl
