Hello comrades! I encounter a lot of freezes and crashes in VP19, so I wanted to ask a question: Are there people here whose VP19 DOES NOT HANG AND DOES NOT CRASH AT ALL?
@Vincent-Brice now I'm using Nvidia GTX 1080, but I plan to buy RTX 3080 Ti and if Vegas with So4 stops hanging after replacing the graphics card, then it looks like the GPU hardware compatibility is really the problem

I wouldn't buy hardware to attempt to improve stability (assuming the current hardware is working normally). The 10XX series is fully supported in Vegas so I doubt there would be any improvement. I use the GTX 1050 myself.

As you can see, I have problems with my GTX 1080...
I see you have an i7 8700k, so I would set up its iGPU, the Intel® UHD Graphics 630 to use with so4compound to use it as your hardware decoder instead of the less compatible NVDEC one (and that would be my advice even if you had a RTX 3090).
The iGPU may need to be enabled in bios with a monitor or dummy cable plugged into it to get it to function.

Ahhhh, it crashed earlier, the first time with Legacy AVC decoder enabled. I can live with one now and again, no problem, but I was surprised to still see the reference to So4 in the crash report. There has been a reference to it in every report. Could anyone explain what the reference means? Thanks.
Oh no, it's just crashed again with exactly the same problem report. Why has it become unstable even with Legacy AVC encoder enabled now? I'll suppose I will just have to let the prices drop a bit more and just change the GPU to one that others find works with Vegas 😞
@Vincent-Brice I think we need to investigate the situation in which the failure occurs. It may depend on plugins and so on... I can advise you to disable Interop in the Internal section
The crash report says nothing about so4, rather that there was an error in kernelbase.
The extra info are log files it prepared for Vegas support to use. Do consider a support request and also try to figure out what happens before a crash occurs.
A new GPU is unlikely to help if your current one meets Vegas minimum requirements. Using an Intel IGPU instead of GPU for decoding could help if decoding was the problem in the first place.

I have Boris installed now but even before with a clean install of windows and only Vegas it was crashing.

I disabled Interop (in that I typed FALSE instead of TRUE) but it crashed very soon after. But thanks anyway, I appreciate any suggestions 🙂
Could be a driver issue... if you do not have the current Enterprise Pro driver installed for your 5500xt, do so. If you do, see if rolling back to a previous driver helps.

This is mentioning hardware detection... not compoundplug, which is the decoder. See if manually setting your hardware in the video and file io tab of preferences helps don't use the auto option. i had a similar bug recently that was solved that way.
Thanks for the tip @fr0sty , I tried it, but unfortunately it soon crashed again, the 262nd under Vegas in Windows problem reports. I'll report back whatever I get from Vegas Support ;)
Hi, im new here (swiss french). I am also a Vegas Pro user (started from the V12).
I also expect crash when rendering video (for my case it's happen if the video is long (more than 30 minutes) and have subtitle/effect/transition on it) I have tested with an interview (15 minutes) (Exactly same effect and transition than the 1hour conference) It's not crashing when rendering.
Note that i have no crash when i rendering in Vegas Pro V18, it happens only with the V19.
My configuration is Windows 10, Intel i9-12900k, Nvidia 1080Ti fouders edition. Note also i have tried rendering on 3 different computer (2 tower and one laptop) All of my computer have crash during rendering on Vegas 19 (long video) and no one crashed using Vegas 18.
Actually, i edit my video shorter than 30 minutes on V19 and all other on V18 (but i like more the V19, i's more reactive and quick on the editing side) I hope it will working soon.
For the video project, it's a Mp4/AVC from my Camera (Panasonic HC-X1) and .wave/PCM audio from my Tascam Recorder. I have all the long an animated logo (a PNG that i have add a rotation effect on it), (if have subtitle, i'ts from .srt , but it crashes also on long video that doesnt have subtitle on it). I suspect the Rotation effect on the logo but not sure because short interview of 15 minutes also have that animated logo and doesnt crash when rendering.
Now, i try rendering without using the GPU (Main AVC) it will run more than 6hours for 1h video (aproximatively 3h with GPU but it crash).
I will also try without the animated logo (the animation used is a plugin/effect from vegas not external)
I will post news after both of my last rendering test. (PS sorry for my bad spelling, i speak french and my english isnt perfect ;) )
