VEGAS Pro 19 upgrade - unlimited downloads or one time only?

Brianna-T wrote on 11/28/2021, 7:19 PM

Hey! So, I have Sony Vegas Pro 13 on a disc right now, and I have three different computers I currently have it running on, and my question is, if I was to upgrade to the 19 and get the instant download link, is that good for unlimited downloads? And also, can it be downloaded and run on multiple computers at once? I know this is last minute (I'm a procrastinator, okay D'X) but I'm hoping to take advantage of the black friday deal here so if if anyone has any quick answers for me, that would be amazing! Thank you :)

Re the allowable number of computers for Vegas Pro 19, please see point 9 in: https://www.vegascreativesoftware.info/us/forum/vegas-pro-faqs-and-troubleshooting-guides--104787/

With the perpetual licence, Vegas Pro can be installed on your 3 computers, but only 2 of those computers can have Vegas Pro 19 activated at the same time. This means that you would need to de-activate one of the VP19 activations (via VP19's Help menu) in order to activate the other computer. If you must have your 3 computers active at the same time, a consideration might be purchase two perpetual licences which would then give you the ability to have Vegas Pro 19 activated on up to 4 computers at the same time.

... if I was to upgrade to the 19 and get the instant download link, is that good for unlimited downloads?

The installer for Vegas Pro 19 will always be accessible to you from the My Products listing in your MAGIX My Account.

As long as you've selected either New Purchase or Upgrade (for a perpetual licence), you can have Vegas Pro 19 activated on 2 computers at the same time.

The billed monthly or 12 annually options are the 365 subscription versions - and they allow only 1 computer to be activated at a time.

If you have your Vegas Pro 13 serial number, try the upgrade purchase option as you might be eligible for the upgrade pricing. The system should ask you to code that serial number unless it is already on your MAGIX account.

With the '1' at the check out, that will almost certainly just mean that you are buying 1 item - but that 1 item allows activations on 2 computers at the same time (perpetual licence via new purchase or upgrade only).

Just one thing to consider though. The technical requirements (e.g. computer specs) are very much higher than they were for Vegas Pro 13, so check out those requirements at:

https://www.vegascreativesoftware.com/us/specifications/#productMenu

If your computers' specifications are not equal to or better than the minimum specs (which includes Windows 10), Vegas Pro will probably work but advanced functions and features such as Artificial Intelligence FX may not function.
