Vegas Pro 20 will not open properly

Tavis-Walters wrote on 10/25/2023, 5:46 AM

Good morning

Recently, my copy of Sony Vegas pro 20 will not open properly. It does open the program, but closes after about 30 seconds without any interference. I don't see any error messages either.

So far I've tried the following:

1. Uninstall an install of Sony Vegas Pro 20 and its components.

2. Run as administrator.

3. Run in windows 8 compatibility mode.

4. Verified all drivers are up to date.

5. Disconnecting the internet.

I have the latest build of Vegas installed.

I look forward to your replies.

Yours sincerely

Tavis

Maybe because there is no such program as Sony Vegas Pro 20? And if there were, Win8 was not a supported OS.

Oh, and you have to be connected to the internet, so the software can "phone home" and be verified that it is a legally bought and registered copy.

Please provide detailed information about your computer (including but not limited to CPU, GPU (and its driver version), RAM etc). Also, which build of Vegas Pro 20 are you using?

BTW, the last version of Sony Vegas Pro was version 13 released some 9 years ago. If you obtained your version of Vegas Pro from a website naming it as Sony Vegas Pro 20, you must have gone to a pirate website - https://www.vegascreativesoftware.info/us/forum/sony-vegas-vs-vegas--119881/

If you have a pirate/cracked version of Vegas Pro 20, go to Reddit's website as they are amazingly okay with pirated software versions.

Have you looked in the Windows Event Log and/or the Windows Reliability History?
