Vegas Pro 21 Dragging Clip to Timeline Issue

So when dragging a clip from the media window to the timeline, it has this nasty tendency to only drag part of the clip. It has this hover over feature with the media window and blah blah blah.
How do I turn that off? When I drag a clip to the timeline I want it to pull the entire clip, not some segment I have arbitrarily highlighted by accident and can't figure out how to un-highlight.

Does clicking bypass hover scrub here help? Should be on the right side of the row that begins with import media.
