Vegas Pro 21 rendering fails on recent NVIDIA drivers(works on 581.80)

I am experiencing a consistent rendering failure in VEGAS Pro 21 when using recent NVIDIA GPU drivers.

Rendering fails with error code 0x80660008 on the following drivers:

NVIDIA 591.44

NVIDIA 591.59

Rolling back the GPU driver to NVIDIA 581.80 completely resolves the issue, and rendering works normally without any errors.

This strongly suggests a compatibility or regression issue introduced in newer NVIDIA drivers.

System information:

GPU: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5090

Application: VEGAS Pro 21

OS: Windows 11 64-bit

Rendering error code: 0x80660008

Additional notes:

The issue is fully reproducible

No project or settings changes were made between driver versions

Only the NVIDIA driver version affects the outcome

Please investigate this issue and coordinate with NVIDIA if necessary.

@Sahngki-Lim This is a known issue.

NVIDIA caused it and is aware of it and said application makers need to update their software to work with NVIDIA's latest SDK. However it's unlikely Magix (or other companies) will update no-longer current software. My suggestion would be to stay on 581.57 or update to VP 23. Also complain to NVIDIA that they need to restore support. After customer complaints they found a way to make 32-bit PhysX work again so they could fix this, too.

Roger, as this is a major issue now and will be in the future would it be worth adding this issue as a sticky.

I have contacted Nvidia. There helpdesk is the same as Magix. Many answers and questions that are completely not relevant (clean and reinstall driver etc.). After several days I got an answer to fill in a Display Driver Feedback Form for the problem (https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSewHJk1xP-C5elLBRCDLTLpNQZ9eiefrdZmUGP9hMCN6gKssA/viewform). I don't now if this is coupled to a user / reported issue or that more users can fill in this form. I hope that many more users do these steps. But it is not easy to get through to this stage!
