Vegas Pro 21 - Smart split not splitting all the tracks but are all gp

I am having trouble with smart split.

I have grouped all the tracks I want to split.

I then select the section that I want to split the tracks at.

It splits 3 out of the 4 rows.

I have reselected the rows and grouped them again but same results.

The very first time I did it, it only split the 1st row and not the audio that is connected with it.

Lastly I reselected the rows and then pressed U to make sure nothing else is grouped with them and then G to regroup them but get this result. see picture.

@wilco-n I get the same result

I don't know but if you add multiple audio tracks & group them it does work, maybe Smart Split isn't designed to work with multiple grouped video+audio events like inn your example, It's designed for 1 video + 1 or multiple audio channels like some media has.

PS. swap your video & audio tracks on the lower event so the audio is above the video & it does work 🤷‍♂️

@wilco-n 👍 I'll have a play but if t's a feature that needs turning on or off it seems I have it set like you 🤷‍♂️😂 Most of my settings are @ default.. 👍

You might want to look up Smart Split in Vegas Pro's user manual (Help menu / Contents and Index) because Smart Split is used for a completely different purpose. Smart Split is meant to extract a selected middle portion of a single event and join together the two remaining outer segments of that event but joined with a short Warp Flow transition.

When wanting to split a number of events on a number of tracks - video and/or audio and whether grouped or not - highlight the events on each track that are wanted to be split and then split (e.g. keyboard 'S').

@Dexcon Agreed, Smart Split adds Warp Flow to blend two tracks, I'm not sure trying to do this with multiple video tracks is ideal or as intended.
