Is your computer setup straightforward and you are trying to install Vegas Pro in its default installation state to the C:\ drive? Or is your computer setup more complicated and you are trying to install Vegas Pro to a drive other than the C:\ drive or to a server, etc? The reason I ask is that looking at my Temp files in the same User folder, there is no entry that reads "(system:2)".
Instead of installing from an .exe file, use Vegas Pro 22's installer which can be found under the Vegas Pro 22 listing under My Products in your MAGIX My Account. Also, the download link in the purchase confirmation email should also direct to that installer - and the installer will also install the Deep Learning Models (AI VFX).
What should happen is that clicking on 'Installation program' in the Vegas Pro 22 listing under My Products in your MAGIX My Account ...
... will download the installer - named 'vegaspro22_dlm_xxxxxx.exe (where x is an alpha/numeric string). Clicking on the downloaded download manager .exe file will start the installation process of Vegas Pro 22 and the Deep Learning Models via:
The above is for the Edit version of Vegas Pro 22 - there will be more programs listed for the Suite version.
I had this issue with recent updates to Win11. Perhaps check Windows Security --> Protection History, or for any alerts in your notification area during installation. Assuming your appdata is on a local drive and not directed to OneDrive, et. al.
Though Error 2 is somewhat generic, it can be file or download corruption, file not found, or an issue with your user profile. Oddly these seem to suggest resource files -- are you installing the English version?
Do the files actually exist in %TEMP% ? (paste in your file explorer address bar).
I've used the installer. But I get the exact same error message. My installer is located in "C:\Users\helpi\Downloads" Does this have anything to do with it?
It shouldn't have any bearing at all where the installer is saved. It's like the Vegas installer doesn't have access to those locations to create the file. Have you tried running the Vegas installer as an Administrator?
I figured out the solution all the way back in November 19th 2024. I would have posted this sooner but I couldn't log in because I was using the wrong email address.
I ran the Vegas installer as an administrator. Here are all the steps.
installing as administrator stops at error: "could not access network location (WIX_DIR_COMMON_DOCUMENTS) VEGAS_VEGAS Pro 22 \ " (trying to install as user; nothing happens (0% flickering)) help
OK found from another forum to disable "Controlled Folder Access" under virus protection, so Windows does not treat Vegas as "unfriendly application" - wow guys, how is such possible with paid commercial SW !?, anyways, now installed on day 4 ...
