Vegas Pro 22 > Intermediate Codec Choices?

Carl-Weingarten wrote on 3/31/2026, 8:19 PM

My Friends, I am rendering and archiving a large number of film>video transfers. I cannot afford to output and store all the content in ProRes. The files are just too big. Can anyone suggest, of the many codecs in VP22, that might be considered an intermediate codec choice that while is not Lossless, but perhaps Lesslossy than a highly compressed MP4? Most of my content is black and white so I don't have to deal with color issue, if that makes a difference. And, outside of VP22, are there codec packages I might consider installing from a third party that might do the job? Many thanks!
