Vegas Pro 22 will not connect to internet for registration

Hi all....I'm upgrading from Vegas Pro 16 to 22, and after a lengthy process of getting the software installed, it will not connect to the internet to complete registration. I've bounced messages and screen shots back and forth with customer support, and nothing that's been suggested is working. I know I have good connection to the web, and that's easily verified. Has anyone else encountered this problem with the software? I'm basically dead in the water with the new version until I figure out what's going on.

System: Windows 10 Pro, build 19045

Intel i9 14900K, 3200 Mhz

24 cores, 32 logical processors

128 GB RAM

Which security system are you using? Windows Defender has been known to cause a connection problem for some users. Whatever you use you could try switching it off temporarily while you register your VP.

I shut that off, but it still isn't letting Vegas connect. I think most of the firewall settings were covered in the instructions from the support person I was emailing with, and so far nothing seems to be letting it through. He even gave me a pre-registration prompt keystroke to attempt to allow the software to see http and https communications and that isn't working either.

Try a different internet connection? Tether through a phone to get the registration done?
