For the love of God... Please... For the love of God... Fix this...

It makes no sense for the package view to be synchronized with the VFX/Transitions/ETC view...

I loved this new feature so much, I was so happy... When I came across this... I thought I would finally be able to apply multiple packages without overwriting what was already added, without having to open a window for that... But at what cost? Having to constantly switch the view when using the package tab, then switching back to use the VFX tab?? Right now, this option isn't working... I'll have to keep using it the old way.

Please... Fix this as soon as possible...

We are one Text Tool update from having one of the most competent NLE’s on the market! (Im joking, but not really).

Great work MAGIX, I’ve enjoyed the last few generations of updates but this is the first version I’ve opened up and really seen and felt the difference in all aspects of the program. Excited to dig into new tools and enjoy the swift new engine!

Just downloaded 365 suite, for which I subscribe, and immediately see that Mocha Vegas is missing and my vfx tab is cluttered with BCC that I have no licence for. Mocha remains in VP 22 but the BCC clutter appears as well.

Boris FX is something you have to install. If you installed it in the past it was still remain in ofx. You have had to install this at some time in the past. This is not the fault of Vegas. I am not at my computer right now so can I tell you where it is located so that you can move it. And no unfortunately Mocha Vegas is not included.

While I still have Mocha Vegas and VP 22, I would love to have it in VP 23.

I hope the new engine handles h265 mov files better than the last version, where I had a crash every 10 minutes or so.

Hi everyone,

I’ve been using Vegas Pro since version 13, and I just upgraded to Vegas Pro 23.

My custom render templates from 22 carried over just fine (they’re still in the AppData folder), but to my surprise the Sony AVC/MVC encoder doesn’t show up in the render options.

Did they remove it completely, or is it just me missing something?

Also, I noticed that if I install Vegas in French, the program won’t even launch (had the same problem with 22). I have to switch to the English installer to make it work.

Has anyone else run into this?
For context, I’m on Windows 11.

Thanks!

Alexandre

In the new render dialog, you need to check the options to show all the formats. Then the Sony AVC/MVC option will appear.

Testing the program. Looks promising.

!!!!!!! However, as ALWAYS, the installation process is a pain in the ass. Trying to update in VP22 ("check for updates") update found - downloading - runnin: error, error, error... Downloading the  separate installer program - it installs about the half of the - getting a message that the computer needs to get restarted - after that the installer removes some of the newly installed content... Trying again. Installing ...removing ... installing.... Now VP23 seems to work, although I got a message saying something is missing.

So far so really good...!😎
NO crashes...NO render crashes....the DJI H265 files are "almost" fluent, much better anyways now.
Not sure I like the new audio wave display but oh well.
One thing though that instantly caught my eye was that the H265 events from my DJI Air 2S sudenly all had a slight greenish tint. I had to correct them all. No big deal but very strange.

Seems slightly slower to navigate in 32bit full range mode, but I'll see what that's about when working longer hours on the project. For now I'm relieved and happy...the crashes and the render issues in 21 and 22 were nerve wrecking.

I am going to raise this as a bug, another user posted this. In V22 if you change the project properties from 8 bit full range to lecacy the preview window changes to reflect this. In V23 it does not.

Since upgrading to Vegas Pro 23 build 278, I'm having the same audio desynchronization problem again.

If I place an audio file on the timeline and then place another audio file of the same duration with the same audio content (with different EQ and filters) right below it, the two audio files are not synchronized and cannot be synchronized. If I synchronize the beginning, they are desynchronized a few seconds later.

This is a problem that already existed on a slightly older version of Vegas Pro (2/3 years ago).

I should point out that I've noticed this problem since upgrading to Vegas Pro 23 build 278, but it was on a backup of the previous version of Vegas Pro.

I now understand that this behaviour is due to the Extended Color Format Conversion mode implemented in V23 and is not a bug. It can be turned off.

@Dexcon, thank you! It solved my problem. How embarrassing... I have been using VEGAS since the version 12 (and every update since then except for 21) but honestly I had never paid the attention to the particular option. (I guess that means the option was always defaulted to "activated".)

Other than that, the rendering was slower than that of VP22, and cancelling the render action resulted in termination of VEGAS itself without a spit of any error. I intend to test this version some more time.

Thanks a lot for the tip!

About the issue where the app won’t launch when installed in French — do you happen to know if there’s a fix for that? This bug is really annoying.

I also have one last question:
Does Vegas Pro have any kind of automatic “derush” feature (like some other software does), or do we still have to rely on text-based transcription for that?

@m3lquixd We would like to "fix" this but I am not able to follow your request. Could you explain with some reproducable steps and expectations?

Installed alongside v22 to try it out this morning. All good so far. Playback is a bit smoother (I've not needed to use proxies on v22 with strong CPU and GPU combo but v23 is a little better again). I'm really enjoying the new colour grading process. Much more intuitive for fine tuning (for my self taught approach anyway). Rendering was fine and speed similar to v22 once I'd found the identical settings.

Main odd thing I've noticed is that the audio sync is different. On v22 I've been having to push all my sync audio back by 2 frames. I assumed that was to do with the wireless mics I was using (DJI Mic 2) but on v23 the audio sync is spot on without needing to slip it. That'll save time if it was a software rather than hardware issue.

Playback of text is still choppy but sounds like that rewrite is in the queue.

So overall it's a thanks and thumbs up from me.

For 2 are you working in an 8 bit full project? What you see should be identical to the render. @Dane-Spurrell

in v23's CGP, it can not wokring normaly in "specify a black & white point" on Color Wheels.

also it can not working something LUT as like Kodak Killer_4.AF2I9147.cube in v23's CGP.

@onlyway If you temporarily put the LUT in the c:\ folder does it load?
