VEGAS Pro 23 only installs in Portuguese (no language selection) – nee

Hello everyone,

I recently purchased VEGAS Pro Suite 23 and I’m running into a problem with the installer.
When I download the program from my account, the provided Download Manager is named:

vegasprosuite23_dlm_br_ft4l9x.exe

Notice the br in the file name — this package forces the installation in Portuguese (Brazil). Unlike other MAGIX/VEGAS products in the suite (for example, ACID, Sound Forge, and included plugins), VEGAS Pro 23 does not show a language selection screen during installation. It skips directly into Portuguese UI.

This creates multiple problems for me:

My native language is Portuguese, but I always work in English for technical/production reasons. All tutorials, workflows, scripts, and terminology I use are in English.

Having VEGAS Pro 23 in Portuguese creates confusion in my workflow, since terminology does not match.

Even worse, the Portuguese translation in VEGAS Pro 23 is inconsistent — in some menus I even see French words mixed in, which makes things even more confusing.

I already tried uninstalling and reinstalling from scratch, but the installer always forces PT-BR. For the other products (ACID, Sound Forge, etc.) I can select English during install, no issue.

My questions:

Is there a way to force the VEGAS Pro 23 installer into English (command line parameter, registry setting, or a different installer package)?

Does anyone know how to download the international / multilanguage DLM (usually marked DE-EN-FR-ES) instead of the _br_ package?

Could this be some kind of region-lock tied to my license/account?

I would highly appreciate if anyone has a workaround, direct link, or confirmation if the license is actually region-locked.
I believe this topic might help other users in the same situation, since not everyone wants to run VEGAS in Portuguese just because of the regional download.

Thanks in advance!

I think it maybe a region lock as others from Brazil have reported the same.

This is simply ridiculous: we pay a high price for the software and can’t even choose the language. From the outside, one might think VEGAS Pro 23 is cheaper in Brazil, and that would somehow justify locking it by region. But that’s not the case.

Here’s the official price comparison:

VEGAS Pro
• US site: $219.99 (≈ BRL 1,172.65)
• BR site: BRL 1,399.00

VEGAS Pro Suite
• US site: $269.99 (≈ BRL 1,438.05)
• BR site: BRL 1,699.00

So, in Brazil we end up paying on average BRL 200 to 260 more, and still get a version locked to Portuguese only, while the US installer is fully multi-language.

To make things worse, the Portuguese translation is so poorly done that in some menus the text actually shows up in French. Meaning we pay more for a bugged and badly localized product.
