Vegas Pro 8.0 and AVCHD Video

Hello,

I am purchasing the Panasonic AG HMC-150 and so far every review seems fantastic except with regard to this AVCHD format. It is still on back order but I am increasingly concerned with whether I can edit this in Vegas Pro 8.0.

Does anyone have any info on this? I am moving to this from a Canon XL1S.

Some people had issues with 8.0 and AVCHD, some didn't. I personally didn't have any issues with it, besides the preview was a little choppy.

I've heard that the Intel i7 chip does wonders for the playback and render.

Thanks for the feedback. I just put this processor in a couple weeks ago. Do you think this is sufficient?

So when you say choppy was that in preview best or draft?

Also, would the Pro 9.x be any better?
