Vegas Pro 8.0 records but final file is empty

I am having an issue where Vegas Pro 8.0 records an audio file, but the final file is empty, no sound or data. Only thing I have experienced that was similar was when I recorded within the looped region and the audio file overlapped itself because of recording to looped region.

After running a test, it seems I can record a small amount of time and will get an audio file, anything past a certain point seems to overlap. Loop is turned off, so it appears. I can see where the audio graphic finally turns to double lines. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

need more info to help, what driver are you using? what hardware?
have you tried reinstalling? that seems to be a frequent requirement.

I had this problem years ago and it was the antivirus Kaspersky. You may need to tell your antivirus to give access to Vegas Pro... Hope this helps.

Other anti-virus/security apps have been known to cause problems with Vegas and other NLEs as well. Many users disable all non-essential programs, utilities and services. Set power options to 'Always on' and optimize the 'Paging file'.
