Vegas Pro 8.1 Good? Bad?

Hey there guys. I've had Vista 64 bit for a at least a year now and I've always seen 8.1 advertised for it, but I had heard that it was generally bad.
What's the general consensus here gents?

I found it flakey and unreliable. Some strange things, like no video preview when capturing. (Much like 9a) No advantages over 8c for me.

Can you still get version 8.1? I thought it had been replaced by 9.0 with 9.0c being the latest version. There were numerous problems reported when 9.0 was first inroduced but Sony have quickly tried to deal with these and many people, but by no means all, now speak well of 9.oc

if you own 8.0 8.1 is free. If not you need to buy 8.0 & you get 8.1 as a free download.

8.1 was basically a free beta, and it is therefore very flaky. You most definitely do NOT want to use it.

Ditto. If you have too much time on your hands and want to waste it, then use 8.1.

If you value your time on this planet, then stick with 8.0
