Keith, very well put. I completely agree.
SCS has this great way of hiding behind the scenes, and not informing their customers. It appears to be their mode of operation.
They should understand that some information regarding bug fixes, i.e." we have been informed of a problem and will be fixing within x amount of days..." , or something to that effect, would go a long way insuring customer loyalty.

Amen to that.

And when time comes for V10 then please:

0) Never start taking preorders when software is not finished but:

1) Offer it as a free Beta download to all 9.X.x users.
Do like MS and Windows 7: Free and no support and say: Its only an early Beta to test....

2) Set up an update scheme that updates regularly with the last error corrections (NO: I do not mean every 3rd month or worse)

3) When fully finished, then still claim it's only a Release Candidate 0.9 - leave a couple of well known issues (that have solved internally long time ago like in Win 7 i.e. no AVCHD High profile thumbs :-) - but leak a delivery date...

4) Then start taking preorders.

5) Lean back and enjoy the users writing about the best and most stable new NLE version in history... - and enjoy soaring sales... - and loyal customers.... - and count me in...
