Hi
Just a thought I had regarding the two version of Vegas. In my limited experience it seems to be that the 64-bit Vegas have far fewer stability issues than the 32-bit version does.
Or am I wrong?
I am aware that there are people that are stuck on 32-bit due to plug-ins and third part products they rely on, that are not available on 64-bit, yet. And there are probably some that never will be.
When I ran on XP I was frustrated, I couldn't do anything without Vegas crashing on me, typically with memory issues. On 64-bit I have yet to see that error once. I had a few other issues early on, but they were all solved once I told my power management to stay away from my hard drives.
So in short, are the 64-bit version of 9.0c that much more stable than the 32-bit, or am I merely being lucky?
Also, are anyone else thinking that Vegas Pro 10 might be exclusively 64-bit? Considering that video editing does require a tremendous amount of memory to handle HD, it seems clear to me that the 3.5GB memory limit we have on 32-bit windows is just too big a bottleneck for any future development to be feasible there, at least with regards to HD, and especially when we double the bandwidth and memory requirements with the advent of 3D.
