I feared posting more than that. At the beginning of my post I simply expressed that I did not like smart a***comments like"good story" or "crystal ball" etc. When all that had to be done is just ask for more information. These forums host very experienced to very inexperienced folks. Instead of post a ton of data, specs, color of my computer and humidity of my environment, I gave basic info. Really enough to get the ball rolling . Folks then can ask for addition info as they see fit.
To answer your question, I just paused for about 5 seconds after highlighting area to be rendered ( about one hour and five minutes long) before clicking file/ render.

Never fear posting too much; too little and you get exactly the replies you encountered.

When all that had to be done is just ask for more information.
And that is exactly what was done. You don't have your system specs in your profile, you don't provide media or project information hence all one can do with such little information is looking into the "crystal ball".

I just paused for about 5 seconds after highlighting area to be rendered ( about one hour and five minutes long) before clicking file/ render.

Well if you consider it solved so be it.

Memory handling on the local level. Issues with hardware platform, VegasPro app, and possible OS of platform setup all involved. Nimble fingers is part of the explanation.

28 posts and we still don't know a thing about the problem or the solution
Must not have been a support request, . . . hmmm.

In any event, glad it's working again.

For minimization of potential future heartache, might I suggest that you get into a habit of doing periodic backup imaging of the C drive? I literally cannot count the number of times I did something to my system that troubleshooting apparently couldn't fix. But all I had to do was a restore to a previous image and everything was back as it was. Or at least I would learn that the problem was hardware, not software.
