Vegas Pro 9c x64 and PSP Plug-ins - Major Problems

I have quite a few PSP plug-ins and most of them are unusable in Vegas Pro 9c x64 (2 out of about 12 seem to work acceptably). The problem I see is that any time you turn a knob, push a button, etc. on a PSP plug-in playback stutters, may temporarily stop, etc. The issue includes both 64 and 32 bit versions of the PSP plug-ins. I have tried buffer settings from 256 to 4096 samples with the same outcome.

These plug-ins seem to work fine on VP 9c 32 bit.

Running Win7 x64, M-Audio Audiophile 192, on a Tyan 2877 MoBo with AMD Opteron 265's x2, 4GB ram, ATI RAdeon AX550 video card.

Anyone else seeing problems with Vegas Pro 9c x64 and PSP plug-ins.

Thanks,
Greg

Sony Support,

PSP has requested that I increase the number of buffers, not just the size. I do not know what PSP means by this. ASIO drivers only allow track buffer size adjustment and increasing this does nothing to fix the problem. Windows classic wave drive does show an adjustment for playback buffer is seconds (time). Could PSP be telling me in a round about way that their plugs will only work properly with the classic wave driver and by setting the playback buffer to something significantly higher that say 100 ms?

Thanks,
Greg
