Well, here is what I think happened. Vegas 18 - Fresh Project - crashed on me the second I dragged the video files over to the software and Excel was behind it. Now Excel is trying to open up EVERY video file in its own project for whatever reason I don't know. I have to hit 5-6 dialogue boxes to get the next project to open and I cannot stop the process. 264 files to go.....

Dialogue boxes I have to keep closing that make no sense:

This is taking about 3-4 minutes for every file to get through and try to open.

I cannot stop the process because Task Manager says I have to close the dialoge box first. Which I keep doing but endless supply keep popping up.

Now I would just simply power off my PC at this point but I have been working on my taxes all morning as well in an excel sheet and I do not know where or when it might have autosaved. It seems sketchy when it does autosave and I would lose a lot of data.

I might be at this a few hours...

I guess this is what a video looks like opened in Excel:

AAAAND the projects I am unable to shut down due to a dialogue box constantly being open.

I understand this now turned not really into a Vegas Pro issue - Outside of the fact that it crashed as I dragged files over into it. I have always dragged files into Vegas no issue for well over 10 years. And now this will take all day to get back to work...

*Don't have Ms Excel, but this issue seems weird.

Besides of drag-n-drop workflow from your Windows explorer to Vegas timeline, try in Vegas explorer tab, select the files>right click> add to project media.

I am set in 12 year old habits, I doubt that will change. Just an odd chain of events to cause that.
