Vegas Pro Explorer still slow on Network Share

Has anyone else noticed that the "Explorer" window has a few problems?

  1. SLOW on Network Share -- I have a local network drive mapped to a windows drive letter. I have to choose "refresh" to be able to expand it, and another refresh it seems within the subfolders (unless it was doing a full traversal in the background without me knowing?). When I click a folder (tree on left) it takes a VERY long time before content appears on the right. I do not have this same behavior using Windows Explorer.
  2. Typing a path on the top "path" line of the Explorer does not navigate to network shares

We did have a fix for the slow network share issue (which has been around for a while, even before the new explorer). During testing of this fix we discovered that new problems were introduced. As a result, that fix was removed before the update was released. We do hope to address the problem in a future update.

The typing of the path problem...we will get that added to our bug database. Thank you.

Did that also impact auto-saves to network shares?

I've often wondered some of Vega's low level file I/O was doing byte-level writes instead of larger chunks, which would have a higher cost on network than local where things are likely better cached by the OS.
