Vegas pro is crashing

Maxwell-Abbatiello wrote on 4/3/2020, 2:40 PM

I am just now trying to use Sony Vegas Pro 17 but the software crashes every 5 minutes and I don't know what to do about it. I get a "Sony Vegas Pro 17 is not responding" and am forced to exit the application. I have a Cyberpower PC that I got from best buy, and it is a really good computer.

Specs:

processor - AMD Ryzen 7 3700x 8 core

Ram - 16 GB

64 bit, x64- based processor

Please let me know if there is anything I can try.

We need to know what GPU you are using. Also, download mediainfo and give us a mediainfo report on the media files you are using in your project (we only need one report per type of media, so, for instance, if you have 20 clips, but they all came from the same camera or desktop recording app, we only need one report). We also need to know your project settings.

If editing 4k, you need at least 32GB of RAM.

Systems:

Desktop

AMD Ryzen 7 1800x 8 core 16 thread at stock speed

64GB 3000mhz DDR4

Geforce RTX 3090

Windows 10

Laptop:

ASUS Zenbook Pro Duo 32GB (9980HK CPU, RTX 2060 GPU, dual 4K touch screens, main one OLED HDR)

I have 32GB ram and 4K kept crashing on me so I quit shooting 4K.

Now I'm having crashes repeatedly with 1080P and .MOV files on the same timeline (this was never a problem for VP12).

I can let V17 sit there and try to recover but it never happens and task manager shows V17 in an idle state.

Any suggestions?
