Vegas Pro Not Responding

I've been using Vegas Pro 16 for a few weeks, But I find that it is very frustrating. I have a project - that is about 1 hour and 50 minutes long with numerous clips. Vegas Pro will play the project  if I just hit play. However, if I try to do anything else in the project (for example, add cross fades between the clips) , the program just stops working and I get a message "Vegas Pro not responding) and I have to go to the Windows task master to close it down. This is so frustrating. Is there a limit on how long a project can be or how many clips can be in a project? I know that in previous versions I have had projects up to 2 hours and never had any issues. I'm not working in 4K - just 1920 x 1080 - and there are no effects or anything added to the clips - so it's so frustrating that Pro 16 seems incapable of handling a normal 2 hours project/

Is there any sort of solution to this? Thanks

@peter-ilyk “This is so frustrating.” - Indeed. I’ve noticed that you’re a longtime member of this Forum and have worked hard and consistently to put other issues you’ve had with previous versions of VP. All I can add is that you now read through Nick’s massive lists of known issues and see if anything sounds similar.

OK, just for starters, uninstall VP16, reboot PC and then try a fresh redownload of the latest Build of VP install and another reboot.

And yes, “This is so frustrating.” I hear yah.... 😒

Thanks Grazie I tried that, but it makes no difference. The program just freezes as soon as I try to dragt one clip onto another to create a cross fade and the little blue circle just just keeps spinning. I can't even close the program because as soon as I click on anything, the program just greys out. The only way to close the program is to use the Windows Task Master. It's extraordinary that you pay so much for this new fantastic version 16 that they are promoting and it is useless. What on earth is going on with Magix - and you can't get any help from technical support. So disappointing.

I have a same or very similar problem.
I didn't post to forum about this because I did not specify in which case it would happen.

In my case this happens when I use more frequently keyboard shortcuts and then I want to move the mouse.

But it's not not exactly specify problem.

I will watch more closely the behavior of the VP16 and if I found what is problem then write something about it at the forum.
