I have a 12 year old computer I’m thinking of replace. Costco has a low end gaming computer on sale for $999.99
Costco Item 1815274
iBUYPOWER TraceMesh 7 Gaming Desktop - 14th Gen Intel Core i7-14700F - GeForce RTX 4060 - Windows 11 - 32 GB RAM - 2TB SSD - Black
I was wondering has anyone tried one of these low cost gaming computers with Vegas Pro?
Here’s what I’m editing with right now for the past 12 years. It works for me but it is slow.
CPU Intel i7-950. @307GHZ. 4 Cores 8 processors.
GPU. Nvidia GeForce GTX-66
ASUS Sabertooth X58 Motherboard with 32GB of ram.
Two WD Caviar Black WD1002FAEX 1TB 7200 RPM 64MB Cache SATA 6.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drives.
Windows 10 home and Sony Vegas Pro 13.
I just purchased Vegas Pro 21 the other day but Haven’t loaded it yet.
I also ordered two SSD drives. Silicon Power 1TB SSD 3D NAND A58 SLC Cache Performance Boost SATA III 2.5" 7mm (0.28") Internal Solid State Drives. Should have them in a few days. They will replace my two WD Caviar Black WD1002FAEX 1TB 7200 RPM 64MB Cache SATA 6.0Gb/s
Basically my question is, if I was to purchase this low end gaming computer posted above what should I expect from it in contrast to the setup I have now?
How much faster is the CPU & GPU compared to my old computer working with Vegas Pro?
By the way I’m not interested in 4K. Most of my editing is family videos and photos. Rendered out to 720 x 1080 MP4.
Your thoughts and help would be greatly appreciated.
