Vegas Pro v1.0 records with noice

I have upgraded computer to Pentium 4 1,6Ghz with DDR memory and SB Live! 5.1. After that my old good Vegas Pro v1.0 began to record with periodical cracks. I was trying to change sound card, motherboard and Windows 98/2000, but problem remains :(. Does someone knows how to solve this problem?

If you've changed sound cards and the problem persists, then it could be related to your video card. Try updating the drivers for the video card from the manufacturer's website.
