Jim, I thought it was funny.

Not as funny as the http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/page/item/epeng001.shtml?q=penguin&start=1&scope=iplayersearch&go=Find+Programmes&version_pid=vpeng001Flying Penguins[/link] that the BBC did, but still funny.

Jim, humour is good for everyone so mark me as someone who wasn't upset about this prank.
After all, I started another one :-)
There were at least 3 April Fools threads on this site alone as well as numerous pranks on various media all over the continent.
It's been happening for years and will continue to occur each and every year.

What I actually think the most wierd thing was, was that there on the net is an expression that goes like 'Rickrolled' for this video.

I actually just for fun googled it, and it was amazing that this thing that sort of tricks people to watch it has it's own expression.

I think it was harmless, but a tiny bid disappointment I had to be honest, when I saw is was nothing with Vegas :-)

I thought the prank was fine too -- no big deal.

On the other hand, I was *relieved* that it wasn't real, because I still have my upgrade to version 8 sitting on my desk, waiting to be installed (bought it during the early bird upgrade deal). I still see people having problems here with ver 8, so I'm hoping we get an 8.0c sometime soon. No real hurry to jump to 8 yet until its solid. If v9 was really coming out, I'd have been a bit upset because I probably won't pay to upgrade again for a long time (home hobby use).

"Although it was meant as a joke it was very misleading and I did not find it humorous either" its like, "yes, dear, I do that right away" and she says"don't worry about it".......

There was also this announcement from Lectrosonic (makers of high end wireless mics).
April 1st is a fun time for them :-)

Serena, love the flying penguins!!!!!! But what about the flying sea lions?????

Farss, thanks for the inside scoop on the red upgrade! Gears, the up and coming thing, we all must invest in this new technology! We could all be greener by burning whale oil, who needs crude or natural gas!

Serena that was the same film.

Yes, that's quite right. The reason for my link is that the BBC doesn't have rights to allow use of the player outside the UK. So when we click on your link we get told to go away ("Sorry, this programme is only available to play in the UK"). Actually busterkeaton was the first to post a link to the penguins, so I only reconstructed his link. The video is a wonderful bit of fakery!

"The video is a wonderful bit of fakery!" Do you mean it's not real? :(

Sorry, I didn't realise that about the player. What a strange world this is!

And sorry to Buster too. I hadn't seen his link.
