Loading the clips into the edit bar separates the video from the sound.
How can I hold them together?

Highlight the A/V clips on the timeline and press the 'G' on your keyboard (also in the 'Edit' menu), . If you wish to separate them, Highlight and press 'U' key to remove events from a group'. If you wish to temporarily 'ungroup' them there is a 'Disable group' toolbar icon.
