Vegas Projects (over-scan) on HUGE TV’s…???

I am finishing up a project that will be shown on two HUGE big screen TV’s to a conference crowd.

Can you guys tell me, if I leave Vegas at the default project settings (I think 720 by 480), and if I do not see any over-scan issues in the Vegas preview window, can I safely assume that I will not have any over-scan issues on the HUGE TV’s?

When I say “over-scan issues,” I mean, the normally hidden (sometimes rough) edges of various media that you do not see on a normal TV.

I would really appreciate feedback. I will not have an opportunity to see for myself before the presentation. All looks fine on a normal TV; it’s the huge ones I am concerned about.

Thanks!

The preview monitor shows you the entire frame. You might not see all of what you see in the preview monitor but there's now way you'll see more. So if you have any jaggy edges visible mask them for safety.

In my experience, the Vegas preview screen shows a little more than most digital projectors, but as Bob said, if you see problem edges, mask them.

Be aware that unless the projectors are high resolution, your video is going to look a bit soft. Also, the projector setups often favor graphics and may be set too bright, causing your videos to look washed out. If possible, get a look at the projected videos under the same lighting conditions in which they will be shown and try to get the projectors adjusted to prevent wash-outs.

I understand.

Video on these are not "soft" at all. They are top notch, high resolution "things." Very expensive.

Thank you guys for your input. I can now rest easy.

Thanks!!!
