Hi everyone
I am posting this solution for anyone else who may experience this in the future, and also wondering how many others are aware of this? I experienced the exact same problem way back when Windows 10 was released. Recently, a member of my own forum, reported the same problem and now I am wondering about a few other people I was never able to help!
What is the problem ?
When some users try to register Vegas, the registration module reports an error and can't complete registration with the Magix servers. This is the error report people see:
Normally when people report this error, I tell them to temporarily turn OFF their Virus Protection program and then complete registration. For some users this works, however for others it does not.
I re-discovered today a Windows 10 Security setting that is the cause of this problem. Simply turning this OFF, allows the Vegas registration module to work as it should and contact the Magix servers.
Press Windows Start button (lower left)
Select Settings cog
Select Update & Security
Select Windows Security (left column)
Select Open Windows Security (top)
Select App and Browser Control (left column)
Turn OFF Check apps and files
Turning off this setting fixes problem. It seems the Microsoft database is not working correctly and producing a false positive.
Regards
Derek :)
