Vegas Reverbs

Can anyone recommend any specific settings for my fx revebs
for vocals, acoustic guitar, drums, and bass? Specifically
for vocals i am having trouble finding a nice reverb that
isnt too ech-y.

Also can anyone give me a step by step on how to record
simultaneously on to different tracks. For eg record a drum
and guitar to two sep tracks? I have to mic inputs in my
mixer for this.

Hi Bill
Reverbs? that's a hard one. Everyone have their own opinion on what they
think is a good reverb. It's really up to you.I like using Sonic
Timeworks 4080L reverb for Vocals, it's very clean not metallic
sounding.I use Cakewalk's Audio FX3 on mostly instruments,it has some
cool stuff that you can make your own rooms and halls,We also use
Sonic Foundry's Acoustic Mirror,I love this thing because over the
past years we've had a lot of good gear that we made a lot of
impulses of every fx processors that I could get my hands on like the
Lexicons, Neve pre-amps, Eventides, Boss, Sony and ART's.I would say
if you have a good music store near you go in and try out a few
before spending money, most stores will not take back used music
software. If your hardware will support SPIDF or Lightpipe, We've use
the digital I/O's of some of the newer effect processors to keep
everything digital, you can set Vegas up to use a bus as a digital ext
FX buss.
Good luck
George

with regard to your reverb question,
the Sonic Timeworks reverb plug-in
is the best that i have in my reverb collection
in addition to a great overall design and sound, it has a "color" knob
that lets you choose the frequencies you want to effect, i guess it's
like a low pass filter.
it really helps to be able to dial off some of the very high
frequencies when adding reverb.
i've also heard some really great software reverb from the SF
acoustic mirror demo. however it takes alot of CPU cycles.
On the other hand,
Maybe the trouble you are having with reverb is that you are using too
much. Too much of any reverb, no matter the software design quality,
sounds like crap to me.
Most times i use room mics in addition to the close mics (for any
instrument), and dial those in (compressed), i get great room ambience
and don't need to use any reverb at all. This is particularly easy if
you are hard disc recording and not limited to 8, 16, or 24 tracks!
Hope this is relevant for you.

Would you be interested in maybe trading some software with me? I'd
love to try out that Sonic Timeworks reverb plug in and I have a lot
of good stuff. That is comp. with Vegas? I'm not sure what you mean
about not neding reverb, when I don't user reverb my voice sounds so
dead. if you want, email me direct at wr43@hotmail.com
Thanks
Bill
