My prediction is that, one day, all computers will ship with Vegas (or a lighter version of it) as bundled, standard application. It will begin with the educational institutions getting Vegas as video editor in various disciplines- not to make video editors out of students but to make students video-editing competent. Something they will need to document and complete their studies in paleontology, or botany for instance. Geophysicists out in the field will have Vegas in their laptops. Then industries and laboratories will have Vegas as choice for video editing application for specialized work, like quantum mechanics, or nanotechnology or whatever. And when NASA decides it must have an austronaut getting video in space and editing it too, it shall be Vegas on the spaceman's laptop... er, spacetop. My point is I believe that time will come when video editing will cease to be such an esoteric toy for only a few but will become a common tool for everyone.

I can think of a dozen reasons why Vegas will be that choice. But I'll just name what I believe will be the clincher:

Vegas is NATURAL.

It will fit the hand of a seasoned video editor and a non-editor very well.

And might I add, didn't Grazie said, it is steady as a ....rock?
