I'm getting errors and vegas will not open on myy microsoft surfacebook 4. I cannot use the software.
First of all, what version and build of Vegas Pro are you attempting to use? If you have not just purchased Vegas Pro 20 but bought it or an earlier version a while back, has it worked successfully on your computer before? If yes, has something changed on your computer which may have caused or contributed to the startup problem?
We believe we have discovered the cause of this stall on startup which many users have been seeing recently. This is due to a race condition between a couple of different modules within Vegas. Hopefully we will have this resolved in the next update.
@VEGASDerek Thanks for the update, it is good news you found the cause, it has been plaguing me a lot. I did not reported it, as it s a minor inconvenience that I had to kill the Vegas process almost every time after a start attempt. After a kill, Vegas pro usually starts up correctly. At least Vegas 20 is rock solid once it is running!
Interesting as I am on Windows 10 and launch Vegas via a scheduled task option which allows it to run as administrator but by passing the extra screen that would come up if you just used a shortcut to run it as administrator. Never had the non start happen using scheduled task.
