Vegas Stock Video Not Importing into Vegas?!

cory-choy wrote on 1/24/2023, 5:50 PM

I have to say that I'm pretty frustrated with the "Vegas Stock" options. The interface is clunky, slow, and freezes often. Is there a way to browse content in a standalone program or on the web? The search-only option is slow and buggy, and now, most frustratingly, a video I downloaded "videoblocks-happy-beautiful-little-girl-posing-to-a-camera-on-a-green-screen-chroma-key_SWNO6yj9v-_1.mov" won't even OPEN in Vegas. What?!

Windows media player plays it fine.

Also, does that mean that "Vegas Stock" is just Videoblocks sublicensed?

Separately-- do we have access to stock still images as well, or just video?

Try the mp4 files over the mov unless you need transparency. Otherwise you may need legacy Quicktime enabled.

Custom PC (2022) Intel i5-13600K with UHD 770 iGPU with latest driver, MSI z690 Tomahawk motherboard, 64GB Corsair DDR5 5200 ram, NVIDIA 2080 Super (8GB) with latest studio driver, 2TB Hynix P41 SSD and 2TB Samsung 980 Pro cache drive, Windows 11 Pro 64 bit

ASUS Zenbook Intel i9-13900H with Intel graphics iGPU with latest ASUS driver, NVIDIA 4060 (8GB) with latest studio driver, 48GB system ram, Windows 11 Home, 1TB Samsung SSD.

No stills yet... but that is a good suggestion for down the line. You could always pull stills from the videos, I guess...

Systems:

Desktop

AMD Ryzen 7 1800x 8 core 16 thread at stock speed

64GB 3000mhz DDR4

Geforce RTX 3090

Windows 10

Laptop:

ASUS Zenbook Pro Duo 32GB (9980HK CPU, RTX 2060 GPU, dual 4K touch screens, main one OLED HDR)

Thanks Roger! Unfortunately I do need it for a transparency. Also, yes frosty, I can pull stills from the videos but only the 4K ones are high enough res and those are more limited. Thanks for this suggestion though! I wish there was both a still and video option

How do I enable legacy quick time in order to make things work?

It's in preferences/ deprecated features. You then also need to download the Quicktime plugin- search this forum for the recommended version number.
