Will it add Windows Media 8.0 VBR and two pass render?

We will be posting a standalone WM8 plug-in installer in July. If everybody screams real loud we may try to work in two-pass.

Forgive my ignorance, but, what is two-pass render and what does it do for you?

In the first pass, the CODEC gathers statistics about tha easy and hard scenes.
On the second pass, the CODEC uses those statistics to determinate how to render the video and distribute the bitrate. It is supposed to give better video, but the render takes longer.

Right, render times can vastly increase. We've had Real 2-pass for a while, so if you want to see if the quality difference is worht the wait, you might try experimenting in the RM format.

Also, even though we haven't released the WM8-certified plug-in, you can still access the WM8 video codec if Media Player is updated. The WM8 video codec is pretty good, so you could make try that...

no problemma, senior - I thought nobody cared about typos anymore.

At least, they don't on the ngs. I get the big blowtorch there if I call anyone on their egregious spelling problems, and there are a LOT.

You're forgiven 1,000 times, except for that "sined," one in your last msg . dp
