This question never gets answered until Vegas 3 actually hits the store shelves. Otherwise, everyone waits for a new release and no one purchases 2.0, so there is a huge slump in sales.
If past product introductions (SF 5.0 & ACID 3.0) are an indication of future major app releases, then
we should see Vegas Video 3.0 in beta form first for about 30 days before it is officially launched. Based on recent marketing trends I would say this would be
sooner rather than later.
Based upon past updates, how does Sonic Foundry charge for new versions? Based upon the BestBuy price of $129, I would expect an upgrade price of about $50. But based upon Sonic Foundry's list price of about $600, I would assume a much higher price. Anybody have any ideas what the real upgrade price will be for us loyal and dedicated VV users?
Where are you seeing this price of $129? I just checked their website and they have it for $199 (still a big price drop). Was it $129 in one of the stores?
They were running that special a few days ago. After reading about it here, I figured it would be a good way of picking up a second copy. They did have it for $149 a few days ago on their site. I just checked it again and noticed it is back up to $199.
I AGREE...... I JUST BOUGHT MINE FOR $149.00 AND I HAVE THE OPTION TO GET A REFUND IF IT EVER WENT DOWN. (PRICE PROTECTION) SO FAR NO ONE HAS CALLED OR WRITTEN TO ME THAT THERE WAS A PRICE REDUCTION (LIKE THEY WOULD ANYWAY!!) SO, THE CHEAPEST SO FAR IS $149.00
Hi,
I just got VV2.0 & the latest build. I did get it at Best Buy for $129.99. A friend has Vegas Audio V1. Why do you say no one is buying VV2.0? I am mainly interested in multitrack audio editing (with adat20's and MOTU2408)
The audio side of the vegas line is quite impressive.
