You can't make avi files into fla files afaik. You can turn avi files into swf files though, and for that I recommend Wildform's Flix. It takes any video format and makes a swf - including a percentage or adaptive preloader built-in. Can Swish turn avi files to swf ? Don;t think so .... It can certainly OUTPUT it's own swf files in avi format though, if that's what you mean - they come out quite gigantic though.

You are right. I just proofed it, but in Swish you cannot import AVIs, it's export only.

Thanks! A fellow I work with made the same recommendation as he's been using it. The problem now is... the swv outputs don't let him use preloaders, 10 second gap, not streaming, so now I have to concentrate on .fla output so he can do things to it for web output.

Thanks for the reply; I'm told avi into Swish for swv is possible. I don't know anything about preloaders but the guy I'd hand files off to does. I'll look into wildform.com...
