Vegas Video 3 accepts only real avi files ?

I tried :

- AVISynth Scripts
- AVISynth scripts linked through the link2 utility
- Frameserving from virtualdub

None works ! There may be a way to have link2 work (because I don't get errors when opening the file but the video is messy).

So is there any preprocessing program that works with Vegas ?

Thanks !

Please describe messy. A while back I tried using avisynth with VV 2 (with win98SE, pIII 600mhz) and if I recall correctly, most times the video would appear "painted" with blue and green blotches (not little blocks, huge blocks) of color all over the place. The weird thing was that in Vegas' explorer window, the file previewed fine. When I imported it into the timeline, it would corrupt.

To solve that problem I had to remove all the codecs, reinstall VV and cross my fingers. The problem seemed to be in the interaction or order of the codecs. With other codecs ( i.e. Divx, ATI, indeo, etc.) installed the video would corrupt. With only vv codecs and huffy installed, it would work sometimes. Most of the time it didn't.

Also I couldn't render the file from VV to a different format, no avi to mpeg or wmv, etc.

I looked all over the web but couldn't find much info on using Avisynth with VV.

Sorry I can't be more helpful.

Are you trying to use a virtualdub plugin?

You need a real .avi file.
