If you're working with loops and assembling them into a project, or you need precise beatmapping capabilities, then ACID is for you. If you're doing more traditional multitrack recording then Vegas is what you need.

Thanks for your reply.
Acid can also be used as a multitrack recorder, true ?
So, does Vegas Video have specific advantages for that kind of work, or is it just a matter of personal preference ?

ACID isn't really optimized to handle lots of multitrack, non-loop channels. Also, Vegas is much more friendly for recording multiple tracks at once. It's best to have them both. Create, arrange loops in ACID, export them and load them in Vegas and do your serious recording/mixing there.

Acid is NOT a multi-track recording app. You are limited to two channel recording, which Acid treats as a stereo take. Of course, if you only have a stereo soundcard, this is no big deal.

If only someone would chain these two appz together, I would rule and subsequently destroy the entire inhabited earth ;)
